We're avid travellers who decided that children wouldn't change anything. Of course, they did - having children definitely changed the way we travelled and the experiences that we had, but almost without exception, it was for the better.
Both of our children had passports at five weeks old and took their first trip abroad at nine weeks. This was followed quickly by numerous city breaks, rented apartments and camping trips. By the time our first child was two years old, she had visited ten countries, several of them more than once.
Then we decided to do something a little more adventurous. Our 14-month journey took us around Europe and then on a (mostly) overland journey from the UK to Sydney. You can read about it in more detail here, but our journey isn't the point of this website.
Families at home and many travellers we met on the road were amazed at what we were doing and wanted to know more. Although it all seemed quite normal to us, we realised that we had learnt a lot along the way and it seemed a shame not to share this knowledge with other families contemplating a long-term adventure.
This site is our attempt to share what we learnt and hopefully inspire you to take the plunge and embark on your own family journey.
